1. “Moves Like Jagger”- Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera
Without a doubt, this is the hottest song out right now. A lot of people complain that they’re all danced out and I agree. However, I have to say that this is dance music done correctly. “Moves Like Jagger” doesn’t sound like the typical Maroon 5 song, proving that Adam Levine can sing just about anything. Currently, this song is number one on the Billboard Top 100. Maroon 5 has really come a long way since their breakthrough album Songs About Jane. “Moves Like Jagger” isn’t going anywhere for a while.
2. “Papi”- Jennifer Lopez
“Papi” could possibly be a big hit for Lopez . I’m not a huge fan of the video however. I feel that Lopez had a great opportunity to bring some hardcore choreography to the song but chose not to for whatever reason. The entire time that I spent watching the video I kept thinking, “Where’s the choreography?” Sure, there was a little choreography towards the end, but not enough for a song with so much energy. I always count on Lopez to incorporate amazing dance routines in her videos. As for the song itself, I really love it. I probably listened to this song like 20 times in a row yesterday. When you hear it, you can’t help, but to get up and dance. So far, “Papi” is the best single from Lopez’s latest album LOVE?
3. “Someone Like You”- Adele
With each hit, Adele just keeps proving to everyone that she’s here to stay. Adele first performed “Someone Like You” at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28, 2011. Since then, the song has been playing nonstop on what seems to be every radio station in the country. “Someone Like You” climbed to number one on the Billboard Top 100, making it Adele’s second number one single on the Billboard Charts. Dance has been the big trend in the music industry for the past few years, so it’s refreshing to hear a ballad on the radio again. Leave it to Adele to bring us real music in the years to come. There’s no doubt that she’s one of the best vocalists out there right now. Many artists today could learn a lot from Adele.
