Just in case you haven’t noticed, (and I know it can be difficult with temperatures still in the ’50s in many places), spring is here. You know what that means, right? Time to put away those vests and oversized sweaters! Check out these five items every fashionista needs in her closet this spring/summer:
1. Maxi Dresses
Tank tops, shorts and capris can get pretty old during the summer. Why not spruce it up with an eye-catching maxi dress? With so many designers putting their spin on the maxi dress, you’re bound to find the one that’s right for you. Still not convinced? Think about the following: 1) If you’re feeling a little lazy, just slide that baby on and you instantly look pulled together and 2) You won’t have to worry about shaving! How can you go wrong?
2. Gladiator Sandals
Trade in those flip flops for a pair of gladiator sandals. Not to worry, you won’t have to sacrifice comfort or height. But your feet will look more elongated and you’ll look less lazy because let’s be honest ladies. Nothing screams, “I’m feeling lazy today” like wearing flip flops. And if you’re feeling a little rebellious, consider buying an embellished pair!
3. Bright Tote Bag
It’s time to ditch the blacks and navy blues for bright, neon colors. I’m talking hot pink, orange, yellow, lime green and turquoise. The brighter, the better. And make sure your bag is big enough to squeeze in all your summer essentials like anti-humidity hair spray, moisturizer and don’t forget that sunblock!
4. Oversized Sunglasses
Every girl needs a good pair of shades that make her feel like a movie star. Be sure to pick out a pair with UV-protection to protect your eyes. Still afraid to take the leap from regular-sized to oversized? Maybe this will persuade you: Wearing oversized sunglasses makes your face look thinner!
5. Oversized Floppy Hat
Add a little glam to your look with an over-sized floppy hat. Not only will you look fab, but you’ll also help shield your skin from the sun. Just imagine: An ensemble that consists of a maxi dress, a bright tote bag, gladiator sandals, oversized sunglasses and an over-sized sloppy hat. Hello! Can you say, “Diva”? Ladies, that’s a good look!
