So, I had an interview last Friday to be an intern, (I can’t say where yet) and I have an upcoming interview this Wednesday to be copy chief at my college newspaper. And I’ve got to tell you, I feel confident regarding both interviews. If I’m selected as copy chief, I start next week. I wouldn’t start my internship until the fall semester.
I know being an intern and copy chief will be a bit challenging to balance, but I think I can handle it. I’m a dedicated and hard-working person and plus, I’m only taking one class this summer and fall, which leaves me with plenty of time to devote myself to being the best copy chief and intern I can be. I’ve never been one to fear hard work. My biggest concern is always making sure I do a great job.
I’ve been working at the Echo (my college newspaper) for almost two years now as a writer/copy editor, so I feel like it’s finally time to take that leap and play a bigger role at the paper. And I’ve been writing and editing for so long now that I feel more confident than ever that I would be a valuable intern to a company. I’m excited to be able to put my skills to the test and get my hands dirty this summer and fall!
I’ll leave you all with a lil’ quote, “If you aren’t in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?” – Unknown
