Yesterday, I was browsing one of favorite beauty blogs: Danielle Gray’s The Style & Beauty Doctor when I came across this post, My First Ever Published Story in PRINT and was instantly inspired. You see, it’s been my dream to write for a major magazine for a long, long time. And at only 22 years old, I’ve been fortunate enough to write for EBONY.com, Essence.com, Clutch Magazine and The Glamazons Blog to name a few. And I’m so grateful for that. How many 22-year-olds can say they write for EBONY.com?
But I’ve also been trying to break into the print version of some of the publications I just listed and as you can probably imagine, it’s much harder to land a byline in a print version of a magazine than it is the digital side. That said, I was starting to feel discouraged, but Danielle’s story encouraged to keep going! In the post, she mentions how she created a vision board, in order to NOT lose sight of her dreams. So, what did I do? Right away, I grabbed a stack of magazines, a pair of scissors and began creating my very own vision board. When it’s complete, I’m hanging it up on my wall as a constant reminder to keep chasing my dreams!
Here’s what I have so far:
You like? Can’t wait to show you guys the finished version soon! Have you ever created a vision board? If so, did anything on the board come true? Let me know!
