The Michigan Theater’s new movie making course kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 23 from 1-4 p.m. Brienne Bowen | The Ann Arbor News

The Michigan Theater is introducing a new movie course titled, “Movies 101: Understanding the Language of Films,” which will be offered in 3-hour sessions on Sundays, Feb. 23 and March 2, 9 and 16 from 1-4 p.m.

Taught by Henry B. Aldridge, emeritus professor of electronic media and film studies at Eastern Michigan University, the course will explore four key stylistic elements of movies and how they’re used: introduction, editing, sound and narrative structure.
